Before you enquire
Avocado processing questions, answered.
Practical answers to help you compare the product route, preparation method, supply scope and information needed for an equipment proposal.
What is the difference between an avocado puree line and a guacamole line?
Smooth puree uses finishing to reach a uniform texture. A chunky guacamole route uses cutting or gentle mashing and bypasses fine finishing. Mixing, pumps, valves and filling passages must preserve the chosen texture through the whole process.
Can the line start with purchased avocado flesh?
Yes. Prepared flesh starts at receipt and inspection, followed by the selected texture, mixing and packaging stages. Whole-fruit washing, peeling and destoning are omitted when they have already been completed by the supplier.
How should I specify production capacity?
Name the measurement point and units: whole-fruit input, accepted flesh or finished recipe. Include batch size, operating hours, changeover and pack format. Trial recovery and recipe additions are needed to connect the different mass boundaries.
Is fully automatic peeling and destoning suitable for every lot?
Preparation is selected around fruit size, ripeness, peel adhesion and accepted-flesh quality. Compare manual, assisted and mechanical methods with representative lots. The proposed arrangement and staffing should be defined in the quotation.
Can one line produce smooth and chunky products?
A shared preparation front end can feed separate finishing and cutting paths. Check the suitability of shared mixers, pumps and fillers for both textures and agree the batch sequence, bypass arrangement and cleaning requirements.
Which packaging formats should I include in the enquiry?
State whether you need bulk bags, foodservice pouches, retail tubs or another format. Include fill weight, viscosity, largest particle and preservation sequence. These determine the dosing, sealing and package-handling interfaces.
Does the process include an HPP machine?
HPP is treated here as an external post-packaging interface. The project needs a suitable package, an agreed processing partner and defined transport, validation and release responsibilities. It is not included as an assumed supplied machine.
Can I order individual processing modules?
An enquiry can focus on a preparation, finishing, mixing or transfer duty as well as a complete line. Provide the existing upstream and downstream equipment so that the proposed module and its controls, cleaning and utility interfaces can be assessed.
What information is needed for a proposal?
Start with the product goal, raw-material form, texture and production target. Add the intended package, preservation route, location, existing equipment and utilities when available. A reference sample or particle specification makes the equipment discussion more precise.
What should be checked during product trials?
Agree samples and measurement methods for flesh recovery, texture and product temperature. Assess the actual recipe through mixing, transfer and filling, including startup, interruptions and cleaning. Preservation and storage need their own product-specific validation.
