Describe the product at operating temperature
Provide viscosity with the measurement method and sample temperature. For chunky product, state the largest particle, target distribution and acceptable damage. Check the coldest, thickest routine condition as well as the normal operating case.
Draw the complete transfer path
Include inlet level, pipe length, elevation, bends, valves, hose connections and downstream pressure. Compare the pressure demand with the pump and product limits. A well-fed inlet and suitable protection are part of the selection, not optional details after the pump is ordered.
Assess passages and repeated handling
Check pump cavities, valve openings and filling nozzles against the pieces you want to retain. Sample after mixing, after transfer and in the pack. Avoid unnecessary repeated circulation when it increases air pickup or gradually breaks down the product.
Check cleanability and stop conditions
Specify access to seals, drainage and cleaning flow through branches and bypasses. Agree responses to low inlet level, downstream closure and overpressure. Include these conditions in the equipment and controls scope before commissioning.
