Engineering guide / avocado packaging formats
Avocado puree and guacamole packaging formats
The pack is part of the process. It determines the filler, the seal check, the preservation route and the customer's handling after delivery.
01
Bulk packs for ingredient buyers
Bag-in-box, aseptic bags, drums and pails suit industrial users. Define the fill weight, liner, closure, emptying method and compatibility with freezing or external HPP. A bulk pack is not automatically shelf-stable.
| Format | Typical use | Main line consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Bag-in-box / aseptic bag | Bulk ingredient | Fill weight, liner, HPP compatibility |
| Drum / pail | Industrial or foodservice | Closure, emptying, freezing |
| Pouch | Foodservice | Particle passage, seal area |
| Cup / tub | Retail | Lid, seal, fill accuracy |
02
Foodservice packs
Pouches, bags and tubs must be easy to open, dispense and reseal in a busy kitchen. Fill accuracy and seal cleanliness matter, but so does the product's behaviour after opening. Confirm the pack with the operator, not only the buyer.
03
Retail packs
Cups and tubs make texture, fill and seal quality visible. Particle-friendly filling, lid placement and seal verification are part of the line. The label and market rules also affect the recipe and claims.
04
Preservation compatibility
If external HPP is planned, the package must be compatible and the processor's requirements confirmed. Thermal processing has different package constraints. Do not choose a pack before the process route is defined.
05
Trial the complete pack
Fill, seal, treat, store and open the actual pack. Check leakage, fill weight, headspace, colour, texture and particle appearance. A good sample from the mixer is not a packaging result.
